“Eddie” was only 16 and a half years old when he enlisted in August 1862; he was just 17 years and 7 months old when he expired at the 2d Corps Field Hospital on July 24, 1863.
Edwin was the son of George G. Jessup (1806-1887) and Mary C. Young (1816-1898) of Palmyra, Wayne county, New York. See Find-A-Grave.
